Final Rhetoric
By Gabe
- On page 147. It says when Octavian Is thinking to himself during his music class, “I shall play this passage indicating the burning of bread, or, the collapse of a chimney…” I thought it was very good description and sorta like a SIMILE.
- On page 219, When Octavian Questions his mom and she says this METAPHOR “It was hard … thus … to learn English … this language of wood.” I like that she compared that English is hard like wood,I think thats what she is trying to say.
- On page 290. Ev wrote to Shun and using this personification “ We see the Redcoats crawl on the Mudflats at Low Tides.” Redcoats can’t crawl, but humans can.
- On page 287 Goring writes to Fruition using these personification “ How thrives a City when its Neck is slit?.” A city does not have a throat to slit.
- On page 350 Octavian specks of the grass “ The grass were no shorter than we…” it was a great example of a comparison.
