Core 3: My Brother Sam is Dead

The Cows in the photo are representing how much livestock they would eat back then and even when the soldiers would come home after working all day would steal cows from random peoples farms.

Then the little boy walking is representing Timmy and when he was asked by Mr.Heron to deliver the  letter to Mr. Burr.

Lastly the leaves are representing how the weather was like in Late October.

  • Cowboys were bad in the day because they would come in groups armed, then they would take the money or cattle.


  • The Hudson river is a mile across, back when New York was a colony its population was 25,000 citizens, but there was a lot more because of the British soldiers.


  • In the book the people in Redding don't want to fight, but in real life the people were ready and had made a militia.


  • In real life the Patriotic people did disarm and harass people, sometimes the even beat, arrested or even murder.


  • Verplanks Point was a place the Continental troops defended, but they were attacked in 1779.
